Currently, Chinese trucks still hold a significant market share in Russia. In the first half of 2025, the four major brands—Sinotruk, FAW, and Dongfeng—accounted for 27.6% of the Russian truck market, with Sinotruk holding 14.2%, FAW 7.1%, and Dongfeng 4.4%, becoming an important part of the local commercial vehicle market.
Leading brands such as Dongfeng, FAW, Shaanxi Automobile, Sinotruk, and JAC have gradually established dealer and after-sales service networks in Russia. These networks are characterized by rapid expansion, shortcomings in parts and technology, and significant regional differences in their layout. Compared to European brands, there is still a gap. Below is a detailed review and comparison of the after-sales service situation of Chinese truck brands in Russia.
Sinotruk: Sinotruk has the most balanced service coverage among Chinese truck brands in Russia. Its core layout is in the European region of Russia, while also establishing a considerable number of service outlets in Siberia and the Far East. It has 485 cross-border service stations along the main TIR transport routes, achieving warranty coverage throughout Russia through a “central warehouse + authorized service station” system.
Sinotruk Sinotruk provides 24/7 service response and has established three training academies in Russia, two in Moscow and one in Vladivostok, specifically training SITRAK and HOWO vehicle repair technicians to improve their repair skills.
Regarding warranty policies, Sinotruk has formulated relevant regulations for different categories: construction machinery (dump trucks, mixer trucks, etc.) are fully covered for 12 months, and the power line (engine, transmission, drive shaft) is covered for 24 months with unlimited mileage; long-haul transport vehicles are fully covered for 24 months, and the power line is covered for 36 months with unlimited mileage. All vehicles under warranty enjoy nationwide warranty coverage throughout Russia.
Shaanxi Automobile (Shaanxi Auto) features flexible on-site service and a stable supply of original parts in Russia. Relying on more than 600 overseas service outlets worldwide, its regional service network in Russia is continuously improving, covering the operational needs of multiple regions.
Shaanxi Automobile supports signing regular maintenance service contracts. A professional team consisting of locksmiths, mechanics, electricians, and hydraulic technicians can provide on-site maintenance services. Contract terms are flexible; after negotiation, simple maintenance (such as filter changes and oil changes) can be performed using Shaanxi Automobile’s recommended consumables without affecting the factory warranty. Maintenance cycles are recommended to follow the manual’s specifications; for severe operating conditions, the overhaul interval can be shortened through negotiation.
Regarding warranty policy, Shaanxi Automobile equipment has a warranty period of 2000 engine hours or 12 months, whichever comes first. During the warranty period, parts failure due to manufacturer responsibility will be replaced free of charge; however, the supply contract has some limitations. For parts service, Shaanxi Automobile focuses on supplying original parts, with most commonly used parts readily available. In case of shortages, parts can be ordered directly from the manufacturer, and experts will assist in confirming the part model, with delivery handled by a transportation company.
Dongfeng: Dongfeng’s after-sales service in Russia primarily covers core areas, with digital services being a key feature. Its service network is concentrated in the European region of Russia, with a dense network in cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi. Service locations can be easily found using the Yandex search engine and the nationwide dealer map on the official website of the general distributor. However, the number of service points in the Far East and central Russia is sparse, and maintenance in remote areas is inconvenient.
Dongfeng relies on authorized dealers to provide standardized maintenance, requiring maintenance to be carried out according to the manufacturer’s predetermined schedule. Maintenance is performed by specially trained technicians, and diagnostic and verification procedures are mandatory during the maintenance process. The cost is included in the maintenance package, and only original or manufacturer-approved parts, operating fluids, and consumables are used.
Regarding warranty policy, Dongfeng GX and KX trucks have a 12-month warranty, and electric vehicle vehicles have a 24-month warranty. Body equipment is not covered by the warranty. The key prerequisite is that all scheduled maintenance must be completed through authorized dealers; otherwise, warranty eligibility will be voided. In addition, Dongfeng regularly launches service promotion activities, covering free services such as checking the tightness of air compressor coil clamp bolts and the waterproofness of transmission cables. Some limited-edition models offer free replacement of components such as air dryer tubing and main landing gear bolts. They also feature the “Dongfeng Point” remote information processing system, which uses satellite navigation and cellular network technologies to monitor vehicle location, fuel consumption, engine parameters, and fault codes in real time. It also provides functions such as maintenance planning, dispute resolution, and anti-theft tracing.
FAW: FAW’s after-sales service in Russia focuses on core cities. Its service centers are concentrated in Moscow (Southern and Northern Administrative Districts, Moscow Oblast) and St. Petersburg, all large technical centers with commercial vehicle parking facilities. Comprehensive inspections can be conducted via tunnels and lifts. The service team has over 10 years of experience in commercial vehicle diagnostics and repair.
Regarding maintenance and repair, FAW has parts warehouses in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and surrounding areas, stocking a full range of FAW truck original parts and consumables. Parts inventory can be checked, and free installation service is available after purchase.
Regarding warranty policies, FAW offers extended warranties, excluding FAW Tiger trucks. The warranty period is 3 years for trucks and tractors, 2 years for dump trucks, 3 years or 200,000 kilometers for Tiger G6 medium-duty trucks, and 2 years for the chassis. During the warranty period, all parts replacement and repair costs are borne by the dealer.
JAC: JAC’s after-sales service in Russia is centered on standardized service and a clear contract-based management system. It has an early presence in the Central Asian and Russian markets, with over 100 4S stores. Official dealers have launched a routine maintenance checklist to ensure the quality of after-sales service and transparency in settlement.
JAC promotes a service contract model. After signing an agreement, maintenance can be carried out at any authorized service station in Russia, enjoying benefits such as uniform pricing and payment after maintenance. Maintenance is required to be performed with the maintenance manual, and the maintenance mileage must not exceed 500 kilometers as indicated in the service manual.
Regarding warranty policy, JAC’s commercial vehicles have a warranty period of 2 or 3 years (or up to 200,000 kilometers) depending on the model. Provided that the vehicle is purchased through authorized channels and maintenance is completed on time at authorized stations, the warranty remains valid even if the vehicle ownership changes. Different parts are covered by tiered warranty. The warranty period for chassis, battery and other parts is 30,000 kilometers or 1 year (whichever comes first), while the warranty period for engine parts, clutch and other parts is 8,000 kilometers or 3 months.
